We are on Mount Etna, an imposing volcanic massif in Sicily. Contrada Santo Spirito is a small sub-area home to old ungrafted vines that produce excellent local grapes. Hence Contrada, a line of Cru wines.
The label, made of textured pigment extracted from volcanic powder, features two soft lines that outline the crater and the lava. Semiotics plays an important role in this illustration because the mountain represents the signifier, referring to the meaning of the mountain. Put together, these elements recall Mount Etna in all its forms of expression: visual, tactile and olfactory.
