Ètymo is the name of the project for the Zonin 1821 winery. The chosen naming, literally the origin of the word but also the root from which everything begins, becomes a reminder of the tension towards the original harmony and is represented in the packaging inspired by the typical egg shape of the concrete barrels for ageing wine.
Its shape is also reminiscent of the volcanic belly of the Euganean Hills, the birthplace of the grapes, thus the primitive origin of the vineyards and an example of Italy’s incredible biodiversity. The composition of the label places at its centre an ovoid shape divided in half, made of two layers. The sides display the volcanic hills carved on paper. A golden egg hangs in the background, a homage and reference to the Renaissance art of Piero della Francesca. Capturing the image and myth of the egg, as the primordial unit of the birth of the world, we defined a packaging that is the form and synthesis of production processes but also the starting point of the whole: wine, origin, territory, art, Italy.
