Biodiversity of territory usually gains value from its cultural roots and Italy is truly one of the richest countries in arts, cultures and old beauty. For the Villa Angela project, we looked for the classical standards of female beauty from the Venus of Canova, whose sculptures symbolize eternal beauty and inspired us to connect the Italian wine world to its cultural origins, strengthening the Made in Italy belonging.
The labels portray three antique women sculptures with fibrous and materic looking paper. Their silhouettes have been placed on a natural paper which makes the background of the label, subsequently die-cut in three parts like the winery cadastral parcels. The extreme difficulty was to bring all of the die-cuts, the foils and the debossing into a perfect register. A little masterpiece of printing techniques and ancient beauty which goes well with the history of Italian wine.
